Eventually you see …
Eventually you see and hear the difference. Right now your brain is filtering and decoding for english. Listen long enough and watch how the word is formed and you will hear it too. This takes time because most of our language mapping in our brains happens before age 12. After which it takes a bit longer to be able to decode and store/retrieve in to and from long term memory. All in all be patient with yourself. You will? get it trust me. GOOD LUCK…..

This is a late reply but the correct way is Gracias, I’m guessing when you hear a someone pronouncing it Grathias they are probably from Spain since that’s how they pronounce the ’s’
